Even in a Recession, Some People Have Too Much Money

To further my argument that bad can indeed be good, I offer as evidence this post from The Stranger's Line Out blog, which must be spread as far and wide as possible. Lindy West's excitement is palpable and contageous:

"Click here. PLEASE. I am literally begging you.

The amount of money that went into this blonde lady's vanity project is INCREDIBLE. Helicopters! Dragons! Swordsmanship classes! Also, this is the best thing I've ever seen. Also, can someone explain the storyline to me? Also, sleighride!!

Every time you watch it you will find a new favorite part."

I have watched this 5 times already this morning and forwarded it on to virtually everyone in my mailbox. This may possibly top "Thriller" as the most epic music video ever made. It's like Lord of the Rings meets Pirates of the Caribbean all starring some random dude who really loves his green sparkly guitar. They should make movies of people's reactions to watching this.

That video is funny. On the other hand,it's true that some people doesn't really let the recession affect them.

Thanks for posting such vital information. I am new to the blogging scene. Any and all pointers are helpful.

His bio says the video was directed by an Academy Award winner for special effects. AND, he is touring later this year. We might have to check that out!

Reminds me of those David Hasselhoff videos but much better quality. :)

Oh.

My.

Gosh.

That was just too bizarre. It was so surreal. And just how many movies/novels did that video rip off? I recognized Superman's Fortress of Solitude, visual themes from The Horseman on the Roof (which is an awesome flick by itself), a nod to Stonehenge, Braveheart, Pirates of the Caribbean, Pulp Fiction, Wizard of Oz, Dragon Heart...and what was up with the alligator/crocodile?

Oy!

But thanks, it was an interesting video. Just too...plastic looking.

Thanks for making me aware of this; it truly has to be seen to be believed! However, I have a bone to pick with your title: "Even in a Recession, Some People Have Too Much Money".

Not to be too hard on you in particular, but this is exactly the sort of rich bashing non-thinking that makes recessions last longer, good economies shorter, and turns recessions into depressions.

Assuming it is honestly gained, there is no such thing as having "too much money". Now, it IS fair to judge what is done with said money, and all things considered, this wasn't too bad a use of it. Think of the number of people who earned a fee for services rendered or otherwise made money putting this thing together. Of course one COULD argue that Mr. Chris Dane Owen was wasting his money here, given the level of HIS talent on display, but he could have wasted it in quite a number of ways less beneficial to the economy.

I say we should salute Mr. Owen for doing something economically constructive with his money,...

if we can just stop laughing at him long enough.

holy crap, this is amazing. absolutely the funniest thing I have ever seen. I kept thinking this guy has to be kidding but he is dead serious.

f it wasn't so confusing and slow to load, this would on track to be the next "America We Stand As One".
