Inauguration Concert Event Artists

Obama.bruce Was anyone else out there as enthralled and amazed as me by the live Inauguration Event Special on TV today? The highlight for me was U2 playing Pride (In the Name of Love) on the same spot where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. The duets and artist combinations were also great. Usher and Shakira singing with Stevie Wonder was one such highlight.

And how about Pete Seeger playing This Land is Your Land with Bruce Springsteen? Incredible.

For any and all of you music lovers out there with an itch to learn more about the artists playing live in Washington D.C January 17-20, you can find a list of all Inauguration Event artists playing in Washington D.C. and a link to their Artist Stores on our Obama Inaugural Music page.

Keep on rockin' in the free world.

Finally i found site and which they will offer for such a great topic like this. Thanks for sharing!

Your post is very informative. This is obviously one great post. I keep on reading articles from here.thanks for sharing..

There is certainly obviously a lot to know about this. I believe you made some excellent factors in the function also.

Your post is worth of reading more on educational though.

This website has got lots of very helpful info on it. Thanks for helping me! Thanks for posting!

To see this picture I'm think the concert is so amazing hope I'm be there on this concert time but I'll try to next time.

I have been looking for sites like this for a long time. Thank you!

I Wonder Why is superb. What a shame that we can't get the other 50 lost recordings. In the mid-seventies I attended a concert at Painters Mill Theatre in Owings Mills Maryland and for about an hour before the show many Four Seasons songs were played that I hadn't heard before or since. They were great and must have been the lost songs. I once heard that the Seasons produced an album called Natural Day which Motown would not release.

You know what would be really helpful? if someone would say what time this event starts!!! Not what time it will air on HBO, but what time it actually begins, for those of us who would like to attend.

Even the official website does not say any more than "Sunday afternoon." What kind of time is that? Why won''t any reporter ask for the exact time? What''s with all the dang secrecy?

Is nothing sacred, coming next a speech from where jesus gave fish and bread.

I was enthralled and inspired by the concert on HBO yesterday. I thought the astist line up was excellent and the songs they sung were very appropriate to the occasion. The readings in between musical acts were equally inspiring. I came away with a feeling of hope for the future. But as Obama said in his short speech, the future needs all of us to pull together to lift the country out of the pits where it now resides.

The show's climax with Beyonce singing America the Beautiful nearly brought me to tears. I am sorry that some of the other posters here failed to see and feel the hope this event generated. But I also hope they are willing to pitch in and do what needs to be done to return this coountry to it's former greatness.

I voted for Obama as the lesser of two evils. His well-chosen "actions" so far , have been disappointing. It is remarkable that you ended with

"Keep on Rockin in the Free World"---

Really

"..another kid never get to go to school, never get to fall in love, never get to be cool...

"Keep on rockin in the free world"

It wasnt exactly a "compliment" to the uS!

TELL OBAMA TO GET US out of the bogus 'war on terror" and break up the private militaray industrial complex!

I do NOT appreciate Amazon sending this crap to me. I did NOT vote for this horrible excuse of a "leader." He is not my "one." He will never be, and I will STOP using Amazon in the future if this crap continues to be peddled in this manner. Amazon should REALLY respect it's users - there are A LOT of us who are sick and damn TIRED of hearing about this disgusting display of an inauguration. People are jobless, homeless, and hopeless right now and D.C. declared a state of emergency in order to pull in $75 mill for this one event. NO MORE.

SHAME ON YOU AMAZON. I'm actually looking to other web sites right now for my ordering needs.

Sure, but there were many young artists and speakers not mentioned in this post including Jack Black, John Legend, Jennifer Nettles, Shakira, Will.I.Am, Usher, and Beyonce just to name a few. And if that weren't enough, how about the fact that Kal Penn, aka Kumar of the Harold & Kumar movies, did a reading? That was pretty surprising.

While I have never watched, nor will I ever watch an inauguration or any of the hoopla that goes with it, the idea that some old farts from the past are performing seems strange. A new administration of a younger generation it seems would prefer something more up to date?
The music would probably still not be something that I would listen to, and even if it was I would surely not be enthralled nor amazed!

Oh no. I missed a broken down old commie duetting with the new breed of socialist who will only sell records through Wal-Mart? I'm so, so sad.
