Hanson / Fountains of Wayne / Smashing Pumpkins / Cheap Trick Members Form a Supergroup? Yes. Yes They Do.

Taylor Hanson (Hanson), James Iha (ex-Smashing Pumpkins), Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne) and Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick) have formed a band and are calling themselves Tinted Windows, and I'm kinda speechless about that. Witness:
Their album will be released on April 21, 2009. I expect the end of the world will not be far behind.

Great power pop in the tradition of Rembrandts, Material Issue, Flashcubes, Records, Shoes, Big Star, et al. Really looking forward to it.

No, dipsh*ts, it doesn't have anything to do with money. Adam Schlesinger just has music running constantly through his blood. When he's not recording with Fountains of Wayne, he's making records with Ivy or making soundtracks (Music and Lyrics), or making records with America. He has more talent in his left nut than all you naysayers put together.

"I think it's weird to put musicians of different ages / experience levels together and sing songs about girls."
Actually, no - pushing 40, I can assure you that songs about girls still ring mostly true as when I was 18 =) I'm not sure if that's depressing or inspiring...

I think it's weird to put musicians of different ages / experience levels together and sing songs about girls.
Also, they sound kinda like the Jonas brothers... not it a bad way, but in a weird way.

Nice up-beat music. Reminds me of the Go-Go's.

It's a shame - they would have been perfect for the Peach Pit After Dark back when Valerie Malone ran the place.

And... singing what appears to be songs by Rick Springfield.

Based only on the date of release, how can you be sure this is actually happening?

The level of success of this album will likely be a good indicator as to the power of celebrity in music.
As opposed to the power of musical quality in music.

So that's what became of The Knack ...

End of the world, beginning of a new era of boy bands.
