Holy crap. The top five songs have been MY favorite for 2009. Maybe not The Fear as much as the other four. But I did listen to it for like a week solid. I need to work for this place. Although I would have included Nickodemus' "Sun Children", but that's just me.

Everyone that loves music will always feel slighted when their favorite band's latest release doesn't make a best of the year list (or, in this case, half a year). But how do you defend not including The Decemberists "The Hazards of Love" in your list. Not only is it an achievement few bands could pull off, it has been highly rated my most critics.
