Mark Knopfler Getting Lucky
by Lucas Hilbert
on September 04, 2009
Ex-Dire Straits guitarist and front man Mark Knopfler has a new album, Get Lucky, and we talked to him about in this recent interview. Mark sounded pretty mellow, and so does the album. But fans of Dire Straits and his solo material should enjoy another fine offering from the Sultan of Swing.
And no, I did not ask him if he still wants his MTV. Damn, I wish I had thought of that one sooner. Then again, not.
Listen and enjoy.

No one cares anymore, except bored old timers. He's a boring old timer. I hate his solo crap, he needs to get his heads out of his arse and reunite Dire Straits. That is the only way he even mattered. It must be nice to have such contempt for the fans that allowed you the luxury of being lazy...

Most people with talent and integrity generally learn and grown from what they did in their youth. Thank goodness this was the case with Mark Knopfler. The past is just simply "the past". I like that he pays attention to what his fans, both old and new, expect from him. Thanks goodness he hasn';t fallen into the throngs of old rock stars who were once good and have yet to experiment with new material.
